CME LLC develops educational plans designed to meet the needs of practicing clinicians based on demonstrated gaps within a target audience. Individual activities focus on maintaining, developing, or increasing the knowledge, skills, competence, and professional performance of clinicians to improve patient care. Founded in 1978 with the vision to provide high-quality, practical medical education and information for mental health clinicians, CME LLC’s reach now expands to educational offerings for primary care, oncology, and practice management professionals. In addition, the organization continues to increase its educational offerings from live events and print formats to interactive online activities, PDA formats, podcasts, and more.
Since 1983, CME LLC has been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. CME LLC is also approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. In addition, CME LLC is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing to provide continuing education contact hours to registered nurses; and approved by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as a provider of continuing education credits for marriage and family therapists, and licensed certified social workers. CME LLC has also received approval from specialty organizations to provide CE credits for individual activities.
CME LLC uses an independent and blinded 3-tier peer review process for all its educational offerings. All educational materials receive:
- A scientific review focused on evidence-based information and fair-balance.
- A peer review ensuring that the educational activity is consistent with the needs and scope of practice of the identified learners.
- An accreditation review for compliance.
When required, CME LLC’s initiatives for health care providers will be reviewed by an independent central institutional review board (IRB) operating in compliance with all regulations established by the Code of Federal Regulations and the Food and Drug Administration.
CME LLC is an independent, firewalled company under Healthcare Holdings of United Business Media. CME LLC is entirely separate and distinct from all other organizations within the parent company’s umbrella.
