Breast Cancer CME
The advent of anti-HER2 monoclonal antibodies (trastuzumab and lapatinib) has markedly altered the clinical course of both early and advanced HER2-driven breast cancer. Despite the use of both monoclonal antibodies, patients with HER2-positive breast cancer still experience disease progression, due to resistance. New data has yielded additional treatment options, and increased the complexity of decision making for the community-based oncologist and patient.
CME LLC has collaborated with a team of oncology specialists to provide insight into currently unresolved treatment dilemmas. In E-Updates in HER2 Targeting in Breast Cancer, Vol. 3, these experts write about recent advances that are pertinent for oncology practice, and provide a reasoned and practical perspective that may advance patient care.

Changes in our approach to adjuvant therapy in the past decade have been driven by changes in the understanding of breast cancer biology. Genomic analyses suggest that some of our therapeutic interventions, such as hormonal and HER2-targeted therapy, have a solid basis in the cancer cell’s genetic makeup, and also make it clear that breast cancer should be considered a collection of diseases rather than a solitary disease. CME LLC has collaborated with a team of oncology and hematology specialists to provide insight into currently unresolved treatment dilemmas. In The Adjuvant Treatment of Breast Cancer, these experts write about recent advances that are pertinent for oncology practice, and provide a seasoned and practical perspective that may advance patient care.
