Program Description
There continue to be advances in the field of atypical antipsychotics and their application into clinical practice. Practicing clinicians need to
be educated on the most recent advances in order to provide optimal care for
their patients.
Learning Objectives
By participating in this
activity, you will be able to:
- Evaluate
the role of atypical antipsychotics, including
the effect and role of sedation, on patient outcomes in the management
of acute psychotic episodes
- Compare
and contrast the safety/tolerability profiles of atypical antipsychotics, in particular, their impact on
metabolic/endocrine disorders
- Explain
the importance of functional outcomes and quality-of-life implications,
including how and when clinicians should consider switching therapies to
improve long-term outcomes in patients with mental health disorders

This activity was designed to meet the continuing education needs of
psychiatrists and other physicians. Other mental health
