Who Will Benefit
U.S. Psychiatric and Mental Health Congress was designed to meet the continuing education needs of psychiatrists and other physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, psychologists, registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, advanced practice psychiatric nurses, and licensed social workers and counselors. 2009 Education Objectives
- Identify the neuropsychiatric and systemic consequences of psychiatric disorders, including autonomic, neuroendocrine, and neuroimmune dysregulation.
- Describe evidence-based models on the use psychotherapeutic and pharmacotherapeutic interventions, including predictors of treatment response, to optimize remission and prevent relapse in the long-term management of psychiatric disorders.
- Implement strategies to overcome clinical and nonclinical barriers in the acute and long-term management of psychiatric disorders and the confounding effects of comedication on psychiatric patients with comorbid medical conditions.
- Discuss clinical updates on the etiology, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of various psychiatric disorders and their reciprocal relationship with comorbid somatic illnesses.
- Incorporate performance improvement measurements into practice strategies in order to optimize the overall delivery of care of patients with psychiatric disorders.
